Abstract:

Puregym is a leading corporation operating in the international fitness industry, with its primary headquarters located in Leeds, UK. Our research team will utilize the design science research method to identify and resolve information silos and other operational inefficiencies within a specific organizational business process. Design science is a rigorous research paradigm that prioritizes practical problem-solving through the iterative creation of purposeful artifacts. To achieve this, we will collect primary data through semi-structured interviews with department managers and direct workplace observations. We intend to document the existing "as-is" process by developing technical artifacts, including context diagrams and swim lane flowcharts, utilizing standardized Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN). Subsequently, we will analyze these processes through the lens of management, information systems, and process management principles to recommend actionable solutions for optimization. Our preliminary findings and proposed process improvements will be formally presented in the form of a student poster presentation. Keywords: Process management, Design Science research, Supply Chain Management
