Abstract:

On November 13, 2025, Planet Fitness unveiled its most ambitious strategic blueprint since going public a decade ago. This research examines the company's 2026–2028 growth roadmap, analyzing how the fitness giant plans to evolve from an industry challenger into a sector leader, while also exploring its natural alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—particularly SDG 3, Good Health and Well-being, and SDG 10, Reduced Inequalities. The company has set aggressive financial targets: low-double digit annual revenue growth, 6–7% new club expansion, mid-single digit same-club sales growth, and mid-to-high teens adjusted EPS growth through 2028. These goals rest on four strategic pillars: modernizing the "Judgement Free Zone®" brand; enhancing member experience through AI-driven CRM and optimized club layouts; improving franchisee economics; and accelerating global expansion across North America and beyond.Notably, this strategy inherently advances key SDG objectives. Planet Fitness's core business model—promoting physical activity through affordable, non-intimidating gym access—directly contributes to SDG 3 by encouraging healthy lifestyles. Its High School Summer Pass program, which engaged 3.7 million participants in 2025. Meanwhile, the company's $10–$24.99 pricing and "Judgement Free" philosophy align with SDG 10's "leave no one behind" principle, making fitness accessible regardless of income or background.Nowadays, Planet Fitness is transitioning from a "low-cost defender" to a "scale attacker"—a growth trajectory that simultaneously advances global health and inclusion goals. Keywords: Planet Fitness, growth strategy, price, SDG.
