Abstract:

We are doing a research project for our Business Ethics and Social Responsibilities Class. We are focused on the Global Settlement that was reached in the MGM Data Breach Case. MGM Resorts International was forced to pay $45 Million in repercussions due to their data breaches in 2019 and 2023. Our presentation will outline how this happened and what the impact was on the broader public. We will be outlining what reputational damage was done to MGM International and what they have done since then to bring their company back into the trusting eye of the public. We will also be going in depth with the settlement and all aspects therein. i.e individuals who had their information leaked were privvy to a $15k payment and 1 full year of free financial consulting under the eye of MGM International to ensure they remained a trusted partner with the public eye and reverse as much of the damage as they possibly could.
