Abstract:

The significance of this study is to analyze the benefits of inclusion for students with disabilities based on general education and special education teachers’ preparedness and knowledge. This is important because when teachers receive support, curriculum, and professional development opportunities from their district and staff, their confidence and ability to meaningfully educate students in the inclusive setting will increase. This will provide various ways to support students with disabilities in the inclusive classroom setting. The objective of this study is to gather the perspectives of special education and general education teachers on their preparedness of implementing inclusive practices appropriately and effectively. It gathers information about how and when teachers can implement inclusive practices during the school day.
