Abstract:

Leadership Style EffectivenessRuben Paula, Kean UniversityLeadership plays a huge role in how employees feel about their jobs and how far their motivation is when getting the job done. Different leadership styles like transactional, transformational, servant, situational, and democratic can make employees either engaged and happy or stressed and frustrated. This research looks at how leadership styles affect motivation and job satisfaction. My goal is to find out which approach of leadership works best for the workplace. To gather information, surveys and interviews were conducted with local business owners and employees. The surveys collected data about how the owners run their stores with leadership and how do the employees feel about their job. But the interviews were more in depth connected with personal experiences. This analyzed the connections between leadership styles and the motivation of the employees. My findings conclude that managers who lead their workers with support, communication, and lead by example create a more positive and motivated work environment. These qualities mostly fell under transformational leadership. Which was the most common among interviews and surveys. However, the results that contained negative workplace experiences with lack of motivation and effectiveness fell under transactional and autocratic leadership. Holding employees to a bare minimum with little to no space for free mind or creativity to enter, leaving employees with no motivation in the workplace most of the time. This research shows how important it is for business owners and managers to have the right type of leadership to keep their employees happy and motivated by coming to the workplace. This study helps businesses understand the importance of how leadership can affect an entire business. It all starts with how it is run with employees to complete their goal with satisfaction. These findings can be useful for managers, HR teams, and business owners who are trying to create a better work environment. Keywords: Leadership Styles, Job Satisfaction, Workplace, Employees
