Abstract:

Medial talonavicular dislocations are an uncommon dislocation of the foot that accounts for just 1-2 percent of all dislocations. Most of these cases are caused by high impact mechanisms such as car accidents or falls from a high distance and cause immense pain. Often accompanied by severe fractures or trauma, these dislocations are treated with reduction, immobilization, and a recovery period. The athlete suffered a medial talonavicular dislocation following a fall while training in the offseason. A shortened period of immobilization, accompanied by ankle ROM, lower body BFR, core, and upper body cardio exercises, allowed the athlete to safely return to sport in twelve weeks despite a six-month prognosis.
