Abstract:

Rehabilitation is a central goal of the criminal justice system, intended to reduce reoffending and support successful reintegration into society. However, many individuals on parole experience challenges that suggest rehabilitation efforts may not always be effective. This study will examine how participation in specific rehabilitation programs influences parole outcomes in the United States. The research will focus on the impact of job training programs, mental health treatment, and substance abuse counseling on parole compliance, employment stability, and recidivism rates. This study will use a qualitative literature review of correctional reports and existing research on rehabilitation and reentry programs. It will compare parole outcomes among individuals who participate in structured rehabilitation services with those who receive limited or no support. Key variables to be analyzed include program availability, participation levels, and successful completion of parole conditions. The purpose of this research is to identify how access to specific rehabilitation services affects reintegration success and parole outcomes. The study aims to contribute to discussions on improving correctional rehabilitation strategies and strengthening reentry support for individuals under community supervision.
