Abstract:

This study examines gender disparities in the field of wealth management and evaluates potential solutions to improve women’s representation and advancement. Drawing on peer‑reviewed research and data from the CFP Board, the study uses a mixed‑methods approach that integrates both quantitative and qualitative evidence. Findings indicate persistent gaps in compensation, participation, and career progression between men and women in wealth management. Despite these inequities, demographic shifts, particularly the rise in U.S. retirees, are increasing demand for female wealth advisors. The research highlights networking, client engagement, and relationship‑building as ways for women’s professional growth and influence within the investor population. While the study’s scope is limited, its results represent a pattern of gender imbalance that extends across multiple professional sectors.
