Abstract:
Western society has a culture of dining out. The purpose of this study is to find out why certain restaurants are “cool”, and how certain people choose where to go. A mixed qualitative and quantitative approach was used in a survey to determine what majorities preferred, and why, while also recording totals between men and women. The results of the research show that product, design, and service were important factors that create a cool dining experience. My research concluded that product ended up being the most important reason for “cool dining,” while design ranked second, with some remarkably interesting results.
