Abstract:
Marc Jacobs is a corporation operating in the fashion industry with headquarters inNew York City. Our team will use the design science research method to identify and solveinformation silos or other problems in an organizational business process. Design science is aresearch paradigm that focuses on problem-solving by creating artifacts. We will collect our datafrom primary sources such as interviews with managers and observation. We will document theprocess by creating artifacts such as context diagrams and swim lane flowcharts and usingbusiness process modeling notation (BPMN). We will then analyze the process usingmanagement, information systems and process management principles discussed in our courseand recommend solutions to improve the process. We will report our preliminary findings in theform of a poster presentation.
