Abstract:
"Hispanic Communities on the LGBTQ and Its Impact” explores the relationship between the LGBTQ community and the Latino community, describing how it is either motivated by cultural, religious, environmental, and social factors or no motivation being involved as some Latino communities have no negative views on the LGBTQ community. Identifying as a label that does not match every societal norm is challenging for a few as being a part of the LGBTQ community has been a struggle for years due to individuals not accepting others for their preferences. This project aims to portray every Latino who is a part of this community and their experiences throughout life due to having different preferences while encouraging the audience to learn more about the difficulties or positive experiences encountered.“Hispanic Communities’ View on the LGBTQ and Its Impact” will include personal stories shared in a survey and interviews to capture how real-life Hispanic individuals feel about this topic and examine the conclusions this has led them to have. This project will also include images of the survey results vividly showing what experience participants went through. In general, the LGBTQ community has always been known to be a community who have contradicting opinions toward them, but being Hispanic and a part of the community leads to that individual having a higher chance of being misjudged because of who they are. My goal is to persuade individuals to want to learn more about the LGBTQ community, specifically the view the Latino community has towards them.
