Abstract:
According to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, every adult has the right to work, to a fair wage, and to join a trade union. Trade unions allow employees to advance the interests of their members and protect people’s rights as employees. Due to the demanding nature of business, diverse management techniques are necessary to run an efficient and effective workplace. These techniques can be used to promote the rights of the trade union workers while also empowering them to advocate for themselves. This research addresses the question: How can effective management practices within trade unions promote human rights education and empower workers to advocate for their rights? The study engages with myriad sources to analyze business practices and how they interact with and support trade unions. The established connection between human rights and trade unions enables employees to voice their needs while advocating for a safe, efficient, and equitable workplace to promote human rights education and its ability to positively impact trade unions.
