Abstract:

A Comparative Analysis of Prada and BurberryThe luxury fashion industry is a very competitive and relatively unstable industry, and most firms that attempt to last in this industry fail. As such, it is crucial to understand what makes certain firms successful, what drives their staying power as time passes and trends change. Prada and Burberry are both well-known luxury fashion houses with a long history of trend-setting in their industry. While the creative side of the fashion industry is often given the most attention, it is their financial management that keeps them running in the long term. This project aims to assess how competitive these two companies are in their field, their strengths, their weaknesses, and how any known plans for the future may impact them. The goal of this analysis is to dive deeper into the publicly available information about each company’s finances and business practices to gain a better understanding of what makes them such long-lasting names in such a competitive industry.
