Abstract:

"SafeSites" is a creative project that investigates New Jersey’s hazardous sites, revealing how individuals can identify signs of land contamination and what steps they can take to address it. This project seeks to reintroduce the term "Superfund site" into public consciousness through bold branding and a targeted social media campaign.Rooted in my interest in environmental protection and firsthand knowledge of hazardous sites in my community, "SafeSites" makes crucial information more accessible and easier to understand. Given that most people live within three miles of a hazardous site, raising awareness is essential. The project leverages strong visual consistency and compelling statistics to transform environmental data into striking, shareable content.Through the use of engaging graphics, concise messaging, and interactive elements, "SafeSites" connects individuals to resources and actionable steps. At its core, this project is about empowerment—arming communities with the knowledge they need to recognize potential hazards and take action to protect their health and environment.
