Abstract:

Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly being used in job searches and hiring processes, especially among Generation Z job seekers. Tools like resume builders and online job search platforms are rapidly integrating AI features, yet it remains unclear whether AI helps improve employment outcomes or if it creates new challenges. The purpose of this study is to examine how AI tools affect career preparation, confidence levels, and employment outcomes among Generation Z applicants. This research uses a survey based approach to collect data from Generation Z regarding the types of AI tools they use, how frequently they use them, and their confidence during the job search process. Survey responses will also gauge the participant’s views on the effectiveness of AI tools and compare these perceptions with reported employment outcomes. We will use existing academic sources in addition to our primary research to support and explain our findings. The results of this research are expected to improve the understanding of how AI is shaping career development and modern hiring practices. As both employers and job seekers increasingly rely on AI, this study will highlight the potential risks and benefits of AI use.
