Abstract:

This study explores the rapidly growing market of meme coins, cryptocurrencies driven by internet culture, and community sentiment for fun. Focusing on Dogecoin we analyze how these coins operate and compare them to established cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). Unlike cryptocurrencies valued for robust technological foundations and widespread adoption—meme coins, often named after characters, artwork, or anything else in an attempt to be humorous and light-hearted, generate skepticism among investors, leading to higher volatility and distinct market dynamics.
